Kristin Kirt, OTR β Malley Transitional Care Center
βWe had tried different styles of buttons and different placements, but it was still often requiring staff multiple attempts to get it to stay in the perfect spot - close enough for him to reach, yet far enough away that he wasn't constantly pressing it by accident. The Story Behind Will-Call.
Will is my brother, a man whose resilience once led us to run marathons togetherβDallas, San Francisco, Boston. But three years ago, life took a devastating turn when COVID left him bedridden and quadriplegic. One night, Will fell out of bed at his nursing facility, helpless and bleeding, unable to use the nurse call button to get help. That moment changed everything. We knew we had to create a solution, not just for Will, but for the millions of people facing similar challenges.
